Sim Cards

We recommend buying SIM cards from authorized retailers (shops that represent only one telco) to avoid disappointment. These retailers can be found in the airport or shopping malls. Please note that you must have your passport with you when registering for a SIM card.

Airport

Both KLIA and KLIA2 have telco counters where SIM cards can be purchased. These are generally located at the arrival hall.

Shopping Malls

There are plenty of telco counters as well as authorized retailers located in popular shopping malls such as Midvalley, The Gardens Mall, Nu Sentral, Pavilion, KLCC and Sungei Wang Plaza

Authorized Telco Retailers

You may come across authorized telco retailers at commercial areas – these would look like shops selling cellphones, and will usually also provide SIM card purchasing services.

All Telcos offer prepaid sim cards with a small amount of connectivity. For additional data, simply choose a data pack and add on credit to enjoy. Different Telcos have different promotions and the most well-known brands are listed below. Credit can be purchased at petrol stations and convenience stores such as 7-11 and MyNews.com
